2002 Walking Path Workday

On Saturday August 3rd, 2002 the Lake Parker Association held a workday to make improvements to the walking path along the south end of the lake. The materials for the project were paid for, in part, by a mini-grant from the Vermont Department of Forest, Parks and Recreation,  Recreation Trails Grant Program. Crews were assigned to clearing brush and windfalls from the path, building and installing 8 new bridges and building and installing a picnic table along the walking path. Thanks to all, more than 20 of you, volunteers who turned out to lend a hand.
The Volunteer of the Day Award goes to Marilyn Morin, camp 121, for helping to write the grant application, ordering all of the materials, taking time from a busy schedule prior to the workday to cut the bridge cross pieces, making sure all of the materials were delivered to the lake on time, and for coordinating the work of all of the volunteers. Thanks Marilyn!
Also special thanks go to:
Marilyn's neighbor Raymond Plante and his co-worker Alex McDonald for use of their company truck and for moving the lumber from Colchester.

Allen and Diane Barnes for providing a home base for the work crews at their, camp 2,  home.
Rob and Darcey Gregory for feeding, in at least three shifts,  the volunteers at their, #12, camp.
Jeff  Millette for the use of his pickup truck and pontoon boat to move the picnic table into place and for feeding the picnic table moving crew on Sunday.
Glenn Barber for his picnic table building expertise.
