1998 Betterback Roads Grant
Erosion Control: Dewing Brook Entry to Lake Parker
In April 1998 we applied for our first Betterback Roads Grant to reduce sediments entering Lake Parker by making improvements to the ditches and culverts in the area where Dewing Brook crosses West Shore Road. See the map below. In June 1998 we were awarded $2000.00 for this project. The Town of Glover was the grant recipient. The Lake Parker Association acted as the contact between the town and the Northern Vermont Resource Conservation and Development Council, provided volunteer labor for the construction of culvert headers and ditch re-seeding and wrote the required grant reports. The project was completed in July 1999.
